On March 16th, 2011, Tulip 'Armscote was be baptised by Deborah Williams at the ’Adamas' inloophuis at Nieuw-Vennep, the Netherlands. Armscote Manor and Dix Export hope to raise monies for Shipston Home Nursing and Adamas Inloophuis by selling this Tulip.

On March 16th, 2011, Deborah Williams of Armscote Manor, Warwickshire, England baptised a  Jan Lighthart created Tulip at the Adamas Inloophuis, Eugenie Prévinaireweg 61, 2151 BB Nieuw-Vennep, The Netherlands. Over the years, many Tulips from the range of Jan Ligthart have been named after celebrities, presidents, companies and institutions.

This beautifully fringed white Tulip is named 'Armscote’, after Armscote Manor. Deborah Williams of Armscote Manor raises money in various ways for Shipston Home Nursing, a charity based in Warwickshire, England providing the best quality of life, nursing and care for those experiencing terminal illness. Shipston Home Nursing will provides nursing and respite care within the last three months of life for those who wish to remain in their own home. 

Tulipa 'Armscote' is being sold in memory of Deborah's brother Leighton, who died at the age of 48 from cancer.
 

The ‘Adamas’ Inloophuis has been chosen because of the many similarities to Shipston Home Nursing, offering care and support during and after illness. They offer adults and children with cancer and their
relatives support in the form of psycho-oncological counselling, contact with other people with cancer, creative therapies and information in a 'healing environment'.

The Adamas inloophuis also gives support in all non-medical affairs. Everyone is welcome to come in for a chat, an arm around the shoulder, information, therapy or a moment of rest and reflection; they are given an opportunity to forget their illness while pursuing a sporting or creative activity.

The profits from the sale of this new Tulipa ‘Armscote' will be donated by Armscote Manor and Dix Export BV to Shipston Home Nursing.
