Hedgehogs at Armscote Manor
Earlier this year we started to rescue and introduce hedgehogs to the grounds here at Armscote Manor. With the help of The Vale Wildlife Trust and Warwickshire Hedgehog Rescue we have so far introduced 21 hedgehogs. They have to be a good weight before they are introduced and have mostly arrived in pairs, male and female. We have provided hedgehog houses where they are safely put on arrival, and hedgehog food and water is left to help them settle. Some have been rather grumpy and some have been shy. Some stay put for a while and others have raced off to explore their new surroundings. We hope to continue with the programme next year and make a safe haven for these wonderful creatures, which remain at risk in our gardens and countryside.
