TULIPA ‘ARMSCOTE’: A TULIP WITH A STORY
On March 16th, 2011, Tulip ‘Armscote was be baptised by Deborah Williams at the ‘Adamas’ Inloophuis at Nieuw-Vennep, the Netherlands. Armscote Manor and Dix Export hope to raise monies for Shipston Home Nursing and Adamas Inloophuis by selling this Tulip.
On March 16th, 2011, Deborah Williams of Armscote Manor, Warwickshire, England baptised a Jan Lighthart created Tulip at the Adamas Inloophuis, Eugenie Prévinaireweg 61, 2151 BB Nieuw-Vennep, The Netherlands. Over the years, many Tulips from the range of Jan Ligthart have been named after celebrities, presidents, companies and institutions.
This beautifully fringed white Tulip is named ‘Armscote’, after Armscote Manor. Deborah Williams of Armscote Manor raises money in various ways for Shipston Home Nursing, a charity based in Warwickshire, England providing the best quality of life, nursing and care for those experiencing terminal illness. Shipston Home Nursing will provides nursing and respite care within the last three months of life for those who wish to remain in their own home.
Tulipa ‘Armscote’ is being sold in memory of Deborah’s brother Leighton, who died at the age of 48 from cancer.
The profits from the sale of this new Tulipa ‘Armscote’ will be donated by Armscote Manor and Dix Export BV to Shipston Home Nursing.

Half of all proceeds from the sale of the bulbs will go to Shipston Home Nursing in memory of Deborah’s brother Leighton and half to Adamas House in Holland.
2019: £2,262.60 was raised for Shipston Home Nursing, and £3,500 was raised for Children’s Hospice South West
2018: £2,465 was raised for Children’s Hospise South West, and £1,500 was raised for Shipston Home Nursing
2016: Deborah recently gave a donation of £3,500 from the sales of the Tulips.
